Discussion Board Entry- 20 points – Due the last week of class!
You will need to comment on 4 social issues that feel are most important for us to address to make the world a better place.
I would also like each of you to post a short video or a couple of photos showing all of us at least one social issue that you feel needs to be addressed. This can be something as simple as a homeless person sleeping in at bus stop or a food kitchen.
The post needs to be at least 800 words in length.
Minimum Requirements
During the final week of class (November 28th until December 2nd) everyone must make one post to the discussion board, students must post at a minimum of 800 words. (You may make your post early). My hope is that you will participate more than the minimum. At the end of your comments and responses, please put the word count in parentheses. You can easily determine word count in a word processing program. Failure to include the word count will result in on (1) point deducted off your final score for each time it is not included.
If you post after the deadline, it will not be evaluated. Expressing an opinion is not enough. You will be evaluated on the consistency and quality of your post to discussion board. I will primarily be looking for how well you support your comments. I expect you to work to make meaning of the material of the course. I will look for depth of engagement, as well as level of critical thinking and inquiry. Success hinges on keeping up with readings and referring to them as much as possible when you write.
