Choosing the Right Leader
Scenario (fictional): The Taleo family has been in the medical products or cosmetic products company (your choice) for over 50 years. They have always had a family member as president of (your company name of choice). As the current president steps down, the founders’ remaining family members are not inclined or are unable to take over the business and have called you in as their consultant to perform the executive search. They know this will be a challenge based on several changes that may need to occur soon to continue their business successfully.
The industry is beginning to change. The competition is switching to using blockchain ledger technology that shares data within a network in sequential order with a timestamp—like a database, but encrypted. The competition has also been increasingly automating their production line. With the increasing competition, the company you are consulting for realizes that the business may not survive without changing to these technologies. This change will mean laying off some personnel, and this will be the first time in its history that this company has had to contend with significant layoffs; in the past, layoffs were not necessary since growth outpaced the need to lay off workers. With no family member currently available to lead the company, the company must do an intensive search for an individual suited to their industry with the right expertise, education, and personality to lead the company into a new era.
The company culture remains the same, with an industry reputation for reliability. Most employees pass their jobs on to someone else residing in the local community by referring them for the job, so all employees feel like one extended family. They expect little change now. Although their market has been predominantly in the United States (U.S.), with little or no diversity in the workforce, they are increasingly getting inquiries from Asian countries since competitors’ prices have increased substantially. Currently, there are 300 employees in this small Southeastern U.S. city, though the salaries and benefits have always been on par with the industry salaries elsewhere in the country. Their belief in the customer first, taking the time to get things done in a precise manner, and honesty have been hallmarks of this family business.
In light of this company’s likely future demands and needs, and as this company’s consultant hired to do the executive search, you will address checklist items in a presentation.
Identify the industry and the name of the company (your choice) based on your choice of either a medical products orcosmetic products company, and identify the products the company provides.
Summarize the problem and the company’s culture as presented in the scenario. Describe any changes that might be necessary about the type of personality the new president will need.
Explain the traits and personality factors that should be considered when selecting the next president using the reading from Chapter 5. Include the Big Five personality traits, Holland’s typology, and at least one other personality theory in your response (you may use the Internet, but provide the source URL).
Explain how the personality you described previously of the new president would benefit the employees and the success of the company going forward.
Submit your 8- to 10-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with no more than five bulleted items per slide, in 24-point font, with either: (1) an audio presentation and speaker notes below each slide or
(2) a presentation without audio but with speaker notes below each slide.
Explanations of the bulleted points should be placed below each slide in the notes section. If you submit an audio presentation with notes, the bulleted points should be explained in the audio and notes and be audible, intelligible, and professional.
Your presentation should have additional title and reference slides. Be sure to check your presentation for correct spelling and grammar, and then submit it to the competency assessment Dropbox. The title of your presentation will be: Finding a New Leader for (your choice) Company.

Frequently asked questions
How soon can I get my paper done?
It depends with your deadline. If you need your paper completed in 3 hours, we will deliver it in that time. All you need to do is indicate your deadline in our custom order page here. Alternatively, if you are sending us your instructions via email, please be sure to indicate your deadline.
Will it be completely original? I don't want to be caught in a case of Academic Integrity Violation.
We are as paranoid as you are. Maybe even more! And we understand that the greatest sin you can commit in your academic journey is plagiarizing your academic work. To that end, we have made sure that we check and double-check our papers using high quality plagiarism detection tools such as SafeAssign and Turnitin before submitting the paper to you.
Who is my writer? Is he/she a native English Speaker?
All our writers are native English Speakers. That is not to say that ESL writers are not good, we just prefer hiring native writers because we want the very best people working on your paper. This might mean paying a little bit more for your paper as opposed to when you pay a foreign company whose writers are non-native English Speakers.
What if I need revisions? Will your charge additional for this?
Of course not! If you do happen to require a revision on your paper, our team will handle it for you free of charge. Matter of fact, we won’t rest till you are happy with your paper. So, ask for as many revisions as you need, it’s completely FREE!
Will you give me my money back if I don't like my paper?
We have very few instances where we delivered a paper that a client didn’t fall in love with. But if it so happens that you don’t like your paper for any reason whatsoever, we’ll refund your money back no questions asked.
I have more assignments after this, can you help me with those too?
Of course! And what’s even better is that we can reserve a writer permanently to work on your entire class. This comes in handy for projects which build up on each other and where you need just one writer, one writing style.
I got my order information wrong, can I change that?
Yes you can. Just reach out to our support team via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or live chat here and they’ll help you change the instructions.
Can I place an order via email instead of going through the order page?
Yes you can. Email Anna at email@example.com, she’s in charge of our sales team. Alternatively, you can talk to our Live Chat team here and request to speak to Anna.
